Sowebo Arts Auction Set for June 3

Bid on a poster. Take home a piece of affordable art and support Sowebo Arts, Inc.’s efforts to promote economic growth through the arts in southwest Baltimore.

For the 27th year, several Baltimore artists will unleash their talent on one of the city’s most unique art shows and auctions. Any medium, any style is fair game on the uniquely bordered posters supplied by Sowebo Arts, Inc. to the art community. Artists donate the posters to the auction after adding their original art to them. The posters will be exhibited at the Charles Theatre from May 14 to June 1. The auction will take place on Sunday, June 3, with proceeds benefitting Sowebo Arts, Inc.

This year’s border design is by Ted Suwalsky.

The Sowebo Poster Auction Schedule

The auction will take place on Sunday, June 3 at the University of Maryland Biotech Park Building 2, 801 W. Baltimore Street, Baltimore, Md. 21223

The viewing begins at 2:00 p.m. and features live music as well as beer, wine and lite fare for a small fee. The auction begins at 4:00 p.m., with radio personality Sam Gallant serving as auctioneer.

Please note: Cash or check only is accepted as payment for posters.
